Can you become a police officer or a fireman if...?

If you have a domestic violence conviction you have virtually no chance of becoming a police officer. Federal laws prohibits people with DV convictions from carrying firearms. Police officers can also be dismissed if a conviction occurs while employed as such. If there was no conviction it is up to the individual agency. I am not sure about fire fighters as I do not work in that field. Good luck.
