What are the benifits and drawbacks of being in a sorority?

The benefits are that you get to be part of a fun organization, have a supportive group of girls who you'll have great friendships with even beyond college and have connections once you leave school. You get to participate in parties and events that other people don't have access to and generally have a lot of great times and memories. The only drawbacks are that some ignorant and jealous people may look down on you for being part of greek like, but that is their own problem. You also have to pay dues which can be somewhat expensive but every sorority has scholarship programs for those who can't afford it.
