Would you say Holden Caulfield is insane?

J.D. Salinger's Holden Caulfield - No; he merely had character flaws. He looked down on his room mate for having cheap luggage. Insecure, and immature, wanting to be a player, and "do it", he failed even to pay a prostitute to have with him.
